Having already purchased a beautiful, green, lightweight and luxurious velvet quilt from another supplier, I wanted a navy one for my bed, which they didn’t stock. I stupidly thought this would be the same coming from M & S. In reality, it is corse and very heavy and thick. I’ve no idea what such a thing would be used for – certainly not a lightweight quilt topper, or throw. Currently its on the sofa in the garden room housing the dog. I am sure it will be dry clean only, so its next step will be the bin.

I have been looking for a quilted bedspread for a while and came across this one online. I bought king size in grey. It covers the whole bed well and looks good. However, despite a couple of reviews, I wasn’t expecting it to be quite as heavy as it is and have no idea how I will wash it. “Do not dry clean and do not tumble dry”. It certainly won’t fit in my washing machine and will be too heavy to hang out on my line. At least I had 20% off.

Love the design – the stitched squares, the lined borders and contrast cotton underside. Due to things coming in and out of stock, I ended up with the pink and then the grey version. Difficult decision. The pink was a lovely, fresh, soft pale colour, but kept the grey which went with better with the other colours in my room.
The fabric feels like a good durable cotton with a “velvet’ish” sort of look, but it isn’t the sort of fabric you would automatically think of when talking about velvet.
Neverthless, it’s a more practical option than velvet for bedding, so I am happy with the fabric.
Good weight and keeps you warm when the temperature drops.
Haven’t had to wash it yet so can’t comment on that aspect.

Bought this in the dusky pink, it looks very classy on the bed. The cotton velvet is very soft with a matte finish, and no nap. Bought the Large which is 220cm x 200cm, just right on a 5 foot bed as I didn’t want it coming down to the floor. They should give the measurements though on the website.

This feels very luxurious. It is weighty but I like that. The fabric is really nice and the sage green colour is lovely.

I got this in pink to cover light duvets for when it gets cold. The XL fitting a king size bed very well, and I would think also a superking. It is great quality and a nice dusky pink colour. I have ordered the sage now too!

I have bought several throws and bedspreads form M&S and this top the list for quality. The grey is suitable for the winter.. would like a cream for the spring.
It is weighty and washing could be a problem. The XL King Size does not have measurements and on a King Size bed it almost touches the floor… and my bed is higher than average. Maybe the large double would fit better,
